I am a recently college graduate with an early childhood education degree. During college I chose to focus my studies on young children with special needs, such as Autism, and worked as a shadow for a 2nd grader with Autism.
I am a certified teacher, but am currently working as an early intervention specialist for children birth-5 with developmental delays. I enjoy helping children learn and especially have a heart for those children that learning in school does not come the easiest.
I was recently trained to lesson plan, teach, tutor, etc. using common core. That was the curriculum I was trained in during my bachelor's degree.
Beyond my schooling in these areas I have worked as a tutor to children with Autism, Aspergers, and other special needs. Now I currently work as a play therapist to special needs/developmentally delayed children.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I studied Autism in various classes in college and also shadowed a 2nd grader with Autism and worked as his one-on-one tutor. During my student teaching I also worked with and designed lessons for children with Autism or suspected Autism. Now as an early intervention specialist I help to determine if children need Autism screenings and educate parents to n what Autism is and strategies to help their child.
During my undergraduate training all of my curriculum training was focused on common core. My methods classes taught how to teach common core standards and strategies. During my student teaching experience all of my lesson plans were based on common core curriculum and standards.
I have my bachelor's degree in early childhood education, and I am certified to teach kindergarten through 3rd grade. I have also tutored and taught children ranging from k5-5th grades. I'm college I learned content area for each subject and effective teaching strategies for various types of young learners.
