I am currently a fifth grade teacher. I have experience teaching second through fifth grade. I graduated from Lander University in 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education. I later obtained my Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction. I love working with children and seeing them become successful. I strongly believe that each child can progress and be successful with the right instruction and encouragement.
On a personal note, I am married and have two boys of my own. They are eight and five. They love reading and both do very well in school. They also love racing motocross, which makes this mama very nervous.

I have primarily been teaching reading the past five years. I love to read myself but most of all I love to see children progress and become successful in reading.
I have been trained in guided reading and use this method of teaching on a daily basis in my classroom. I strongly believe that individualizing instruction plays a key factor in a student's progress and success.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
