My name is Stacie and I am a Columbia County educator looking for opportunities to provide additional support for students outside of the traditional classroom. As a classroom teacher for ten years, I can attest to how reinforcement of concepts and skills is a benefit not just to the student receiving the assistance but to the instructional environment as a whole.
I hold a M.Ed. in Special Education and am working on my Ed.S in Educational Leadership. As a Special Education teacher I am certified in general math and social studies. Over my career I have co-taught in various math, social studies and literature classes as well as taught small group, differentiated courses for students that require more individualized instruction. As a former economics major during my undergraduate career my program required a great deal of math which I successfully completed with a B or better up to differential calculus however my strength is helping students become successful with basic math, algebra, study skills, writing and reading comprehension. Furthermore, I actively sit on school committees that address the upcoming skills our students need to be successful with Common Core Curriculum and will bring that knowledge into any tutoring situation to insure students are prepared to be successful.
I provide a great level of support for my students and exhibit great patience when tutoring; my philosophy is "Be reminded when others were patient with you" - we all have needed grace and patience from others. As a tutor and certified teacher I believe in communicating with parents on an ongoing basis and will always work to identify strengths and weaknesses of students. For parents of students with IEPs I can also provide insight into developing goals and objectives that will support students in their area(s) of weakness.
I go above and beyond to promote student achievement by providing additional help for any student in my school during my lunch, after school and outside of school if necessary. My desire for students to learn goes above and beyond my job, it is my mission in life and that is why I am looking to secure tutoring positions to assist both students and parents achieve success. Greetings,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am certified at the Master's level grades P-12 to teach students with ADD and Learning Disabilities. I have almost 8 years of teaching experience.
I have taught Study Skills Skills at the high school level throughout my teaching career. With the ability to develop my own curriculum I was given the opportunity to use many research-based programs to teach students organization, time management, test taking strategies and goal setting.
