Hello! I am a certified teacher (preK-6) with a dual license in Elementary and Special Education. I have tutored children ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade in all subject areas and also have 6 years of experience in the public school system (as both a special education teacher and 3rd grade teacher). I love tutoring and providing opportunities to scaffold specific skills/lessons to make concepts "click" for my kiddos. I look forward to working alongside parents/children and finding ways to utilize their strengths and weaknesses to enhance learning experiences in and out of the classroom setting! I am taking this school year off of professional teaching to stay home with my baby, so my availability has become more flexible as I now work remotely from home.

Math is a joy to teach, especially when focusing on the foundational basics built in elementary school lessons. My goal is to meet my students where they're at academically and find ways to differentiate instruction, to help build a growth mindset to learning math, and to provide various tools/study skills that can take abstract or difficult concepts of math and make them more concrete.

I have several years of experience creating and implementing guided reading or writing lessons for various grades and reading levels. Having taught multiple ages/grades in an elementary school, I have seen where students start their learning process (phonemic awareness, sight words, fluency, etc.) and where they are expected to be upon transitioning into middle school.

Additionally, I have experience in phonics, fluency/accuracy, and vocabulary, as well as its integration with various spelling, reading, and writing skills.

I aim to be a kindhearted, encouraging, and empathetic professional who develops hands-on lessons and differentiates instruction to meet the needs of each individual child. I look forward to working with you and cannot wait to try my hardest to make this tutoring experience memorable and beneficial to each and every child.
