I would like to introduce myself, my name is Marilyn Greene. I currently reside in the Elloree, SC area.
I have previously worked in the position of legal secretary, legal assistant or paralegal. But since 2009, I've worked in the education field for Orangeburg Consolidated School District. My position is substitute teacher. I work in the elementary school level with special needs students. I enjoy working with the Pre-K level up to 3rd grade. I tutor with an after school program that emphasizes remedial reading and math. I have tutored in a group setting, but prefer one-on-one, in case the child needs special attention or more attention in certain lessons.

I have transportation and insurance.
Non-smoker.

Reading,

Reading

I have taught and tutored reading on the Pre-K through 7th grade level. It is very important to stress grammar, vocabulary and spelling in order to read a passage with fluency. Reading is essential to building excellent study habits. The better the reader, the more enjoyable reading an assignment will become.
Spelling,

Spelling

Teaching a student to spell is so important in the early stages of a child's life. Understanding the sounds of each letter and to then join them together to form words can open up a whole new world to a child. I have taught and tutored spelling on the Pre-K through 3rd grade level.
Vocabulary

Vocabulary

Once a student has the basics of how the sounds of letters are accomplished, how words are formed, which order they belong in - he/she can then begin building up their vocabulary. Having students learn a new word every day, helps their self-esteem. So that by the time they reach high school and need to study for their SATs, they will be fully prepared. I have taught and tutored vocabulary on the Pre-K through 3rd grade level.
