The Juilliard School of Music (Violin Performance)
The Juiliard School (Master's)
I began teaching violin during my high school years, and since then, it has cultivated my passion and love for the instrument and classical music as a whole. I've encountered students of all levels and it has really broadened my spectrum of adaptability and on how much I am able to provide for the student, so I can allow them to reach their highest potential. As much as I love performing, teaching a student has always given me a different form of appreciation for the instrument.
The intimacy between a teacher and a student cannot be replicated, because each individual is unique and responds differently. Every session opens up a new branch of creativity - creating more opportunities for unforgettable experiences. Additionally, having the chance to see a student become aware of their growth and gradually being able to take the instrument into their own hands is such an amazing and empowering moment for them. My goal is to motivate the student to attain a goal of freedom within their instrument, so that their individual expression is not restricted.
As mentioned before, I am able to teach students with varying experiences. With that being said, the method of teaching will also vary, as a beginner violinist will require something different than an advanced violinist that has been playing for some time. As for the specifics, that is something I will discuss with the student/parent of the student directly.
My hourly rate is $50/hour and half-hour rate is $30/hour. I can travel to the students' places, if that is more convenient.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In addition to holding a bachelors degree from The Juilliard School for violin performance, I remained at the school to pursue my masters degree. Currently a second-year masters, I will have had taught privately for nine years. I also have experience teaching students of all levels and am able to adapt and contribute to each individual student, according to their needs as a musician.
