I was a chemical engineer for eight years and have been teaching math and science for 17 years. I am certified to teach math, statistics, chemistry and physics. I love teaching because you can have such a positive impact on students' lives. I particularly enjoy tutoring one on one because that is when a student learns the most.
Math is my favorite subject. I have taught every level of math from pre-algebra through calculus. All students learn differently. I am able to explain most math concepts in a variety of ways so that all of my students can understand the material. I enjoy working with a student to determine his or her learning style.

Jim is a very knowledgeable tutor. We got a lot accomplished in the hour he was here. He is also patient and will share any shortcuts to help you be more proficient.
James taught me how to factor polynomial equations, graph equations, use synthetic and long division, and much more, as well as tricks on the calculator, and multiple ways to do different problems. He is very patient, and explains things in a way that make sense.
I passed the Praxis exams in math, chemistry, and physics. I am currently a certified teacher in these three areas. I have been teaching for over 17 years. My undergraduate degree is in chemical engineering, so I have several math, chemistry and physics classes on my college transcript. My masters degree is in math education. This degree included 18 graduate hours in math and 15 graduate hours in education.
