About Neal

I am a military veteran, who hung up his uniform and is now looking to begin a new career in education. I have background in teaching all kinds of subject material and have invested the past three years substituting in the Lexington 5 School District. In that time, I have completed three long-term teaching positions: two separate instances teaching high school mathematics and one teaching middle school science.

I love teaching mathematics, using extraordinary creativity and a student-centered approach to relate real-world problems into a classroom, or one-on-one interaction. I am nearly finished with my second bachelor's degree. This time it's Mathematics; I've maintained a 3.6 GPA and completed: Calculus I, II & III, Statistics, as well as all undergraduate Algebra and Trigonometry courses.

I like to make learning fun and at the same time tailor it to challenge students' individual goals/needs. I can guarantee results and ensure that time spent in tutoring sessions is both practical and valuable.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

American History

I have a Bachelors degree in American History and I am nearly complete with a Masters Degree in American History, scheduled to complete my thesis in November 2015. So in addition to math, I love American History too!
