Ms. B. works with my 16 year old son, that has a specific learning disability along with working memory and processing issues, in his core subjects along with helping to improve his reading and writing skills. I explained to Ms. B. about the challenges my son is having in the classroom and she assured me that she could work with him. Since Ms. B. has been tutoring my son twice a week for almost 4 weeks and she has produced positive results by demonstrating patience and compassion while showing my son that he can be successful despite his learning disability. My son is now at the cusp of academic success due to the services provided by Ms. B. After seeing my son struggle for so long, almost to the point of giving up, it does my heart well to see him working with a renewed level of confidence and self esteem. I consider Ms. B. an invaluable resource.
I just drilled my daughter on information her teach provided her 3 days ago. After only one tutoring session with Kizzy she was able to retain all the needed information to be successful on her Science test. My daughter has been struggling in every subject and for her first time this school year she seems confident. I'm so excited about Kizzy working with my daughter.
Last Kizzy did an assessment and provided a plan for my child to get back on track. I'm also impressed with her knowledge and professionalism. Organization is definitely her strength!
Kizzy is very confident in her field. She handles my kids very well. She is well informed and patient in handling my children.
Kizzy is a Great Tutor. She is very patient with my son. He enjoys his weekly meeting with her. She is very flexible with working around our schedule. The materials and ideas that she brings forth to his session is very helpful in helping learn the information. I love the different that Kizzy has a lot different strategies to help my son who has ADHD and Autism learn. Kizzy is always available to answer any questions that myself or his father may have.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a special educator in Baltimore. I teach a self contained class with grades 1st - 5th. Over 60% of my students have ADHD/ADD. I am well versed in dealing with these disabilities and have developed personalized systems to address the disconnect between learning and the disability. I am CPI certified. I have implemented a Positive Behavioral Intervention System into my learning to encourage the child/children to strive for their best and work in spite of the distraction.
I am a Special Education teacher, teaching grades 1st-5th and all subject matters including but not limited to Language Arts (reading/writing), math, science, social studies and health. I have a unique style of teaching and realize that all learners learn differently. I specialize in differentiated learning, assessing where the child is at (instructional level), frustration level and where they need to be (grade level). I then devise a strategic teaching plan that allows the child to build confidence and become successful. I utilize several different literacy programs including Reading A-Z, First in Words, and a Phonicological Chip Kit.
I am an educator in Baltimore. I teach a self contained class with grades 1st - 5th. Most of my students are not versed in phonemic awareness and lack the skills to transfer these skills into decoding (reading). I utilize the basic and advanced phonic chip kit from 95 Percent Group. The Phonics Chip Kit helps teachers explain phonics patterns using manipulatives and sound-spelling mapping. The kits helps teachers focus on sound-spelling pattern identification rather than word reading and directs student’s attention to identifying individual phonemes in words and analyzing sound-spelling patterns. The kits also provides strategies for identifying different sound-spelling patterns in words.
