My name is Rosa and I am originally from Ecuador, South America. I have a bachelor degree and a master's in Psychology. I came to the United States in 2010 to teach and became certified to teach Spanish. Last year, I completed my master's in "Teaching Spanish as a Second language". I have taught Spanish to middle and high school students here in the United States. In my home country I have taught English as a Second Language, Spanish to International college students and Psychology to high school and college students. I have also tutored Ecuadorean students in the English language. My teaching style for Spanish is based on verbal and written communication. I believe American students that are learning Spanish should be able to communicate with Spanish speaking people. Being able to communicate in more than one language is essential to the success in today's society.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In my home country, Ecuador, I taught English as a second language for over four years to students from elementary to college.
