As an experienced teacher and tutor with an M.Ed. in Advanced Teaching, B.Sc. in both Math and Computer Science, and minor in Engineering Physics, I've been helping high school, college, and adult students in math, physics, engineering, and closely-related subjects for nearly a decade. I've had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of students, including those with autism, bipolar disorder, ELL backgrounds, and more. Building a unique relationship with each student is something I enjoy, as it allows us to share in the teaching and learning process together.

My education philosophy centers around creating safe, positive, diverse, and inclusive learning environments that prioritize student-centered, differentiated, and sustainable education while aligning to standards. I believe in teaching in a flexible manner that's tailored to each student's individual needs, allowing them to achieve their full potential.

Algebra 1 introduces the basic forms that linear and quadratic equations come in and their corresponding graphs, properties and solutions. We learn new tools for evaluating these equations, such as inequalities, factorization, and simplifying.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Algebra II focuses on polynomials of degree two and higher, rational expressions, complex numbers, logarithmic and exponential functions, conic sections, series and sequences, and matrices. The course lays the foundation for precalculus and linear algebra.

In calculus one we are introduced to a variety of tools, such as the limit, continuity, derivative, integral, and the fundamental theorem of calculus. In calculus two we build on our tools by introducing new techniques, such as trigonometric substitution, integration by parts, washers and cylindrical shells, series tests for convergence/divergence, and power/Maclaurin/Taylor expansions. Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

I have been teaching and tutoring Differential Equations for several years and have experience with many versions of the course, whether aimed at engineers, scientists, or mathematicians. Differential Equations is the study of how a function relates to its derivatives; and the solution to a differential equation is a set of functions, rather than the value of one or more variables. It comes in two major forms: Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs), which deal with single variable functions and their derivatives, and Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), which deal with multivariable functions and their derivatives. We learn how to solve a wide range of general DEs (such as first-order, second-order, linear, non-linear, homogeneous and non-homogeneous) and special DEs (such as Bernoulli, Laplace, Euler–Lagrange and Sturm-Liouville) using several methods (such as separation of variables, undetermined coefficients, Euler’s, variation of parameters and Laplace transformations). For sciences and engineering applications we have special functions (such the Fourier series and transform, Hermite polynomials, associated Legendre polynomials, spherical harmonics, and Bessel functions). An understanding of differential equations is essential to modern engineering, the sciences, and mathematics. One of my personal interests is the relationship between systems of differential equations, linear algebra (matrix representations), and complex numbers.

I have experience tutoring several varieties of Discrete Mathematics, including proof, graph theory and combinatorics based versions. Discrete Math is often called 'real world' math, because objects in nature are broken into discrete packets, whether this is energy, material goods or electrical signals.
Finite Math,

Finite Math

I have several years experience with the Finite Mathematics curriculum as it applies to business, the social sciences, and liberal arts. These include the prerequisite of precalculus, linear functions and regression, finance mathematics, systems of equations and matrix algebra, linear programming, set theory, permutations and combinations, probability (such as Bayes' theorem and Markov systems), random variables and statistics, and mathematical models.
