Hello! My name is Caitlin and I have 7 years of teaching experience in elementary education. I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in elementary education from Michigan State University with a focus in literacy. I've taught for 5 years in District Two school district (two years in 4th, three years in 1st). I am currently employed at Preparatory School as a third grade teacher. This upcoming school year will be my 3rd year in 3rd grade. I am well versed in teaching phonics/spelling, emergent reading skills/strategies, reading comprehension, writing, and elementary math. I like to incorporate real world examples and skill study into my lessons so child can find meaning in what they are learning. Also, I feel that it is important to make learning fun and engaging. I love working one on one with my students and would love the opportunity to help give your child the skills they need to be successful.
My focus and love has always been with English/Language Arts. I enjoy teaching my students the tricks and rules to the English language, while also making it fun!
I am looking for an after school tutoring opportunity a few days during the week. Please feel free to contact me to discuss lesson plans and schedule tutoring sessions. I look forward to hearing from you! Hello! My name is Caitlin and I have 7 years of teaching experience in elementary education. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
