I am a recent biology graduate from Clemson University, and I aspire to become a physician. I love learning and teaching and aim to push other students to love learning and teaching. I am an experienced swim instructor and head counselor of a summer camp. I have worked with children of all ages and a variety of disabilities. I am patient and driven, and I pride myself in instilling motivation in students. My goal is to assist students to reach their goals, while enjoying the time spent studying and learning.
Recently, I moved to the Charleston area and am working at the Medical University of South Carolina. My goals in life are to attend medical school and become a physician and mentor to students. I was a supplemental instructor at Clemson University for other students in my major. I am willing to travel, and my hourly wage is negotiable. I am willing to tutor almost all subjects, but I specialize in chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, and elementary education. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught swim lessons for over 5 years now. I am red cross water safety instructor certified, as well as lifeguard certified. I have been aquatics and swim instruction director at a summer camp for the past three summers and have helped convert over 200 non-swimmers into swimmers.
I ran in undergraduate college at a D-1 university. My events were 3K indoor track, 5K and 10K outdoor track, and 5K/6K cross-country. I ran all through high school and middle school. I was the camp counselor for the fastest girl's group at Strictly Running Camp in Columbia, and our goal was to increase motivation in the runners.
