Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biochemistry

I have done research in a laboratory that is likely the one of the top leaders in mitochondrial research. It requires a deep understanding of biochemistry as the laboratory is focused on mitochondrial processes, functions, and mechanisms. We study mitochondrial dysfunction and manipulations to determine how that relates to various disease and disease states.

Biology

I have been in the biological field for over a decade doing research. I have a great understanding of biology, its concepts, and consequences. I am very apt in this and similar fields.

Genetics

I studied and received my bachelor's degree in Genetic Biology from Purdue University. I have done research in a plant genetics laboratory where I investigated genes that influenced the growth of maize. I also have done research in an immunogenetics laboratory where I investigated immunoglobulin gamma genes and their influence in various diseases such as HIV, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. I received my master's degree from the Medical University of South Carolina based on this research. I also have several publications from my research in this immunogenetics laboratory.

Microbiology

I received my master's degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the Medical University of South Carolina. During my time there I studied and researched numerous infectious diseases and organisms.
