I have been working as an Academic Coach at the Citadel since 2010. I love working with college students but wanted to branch out and work with younger students. I spent two years working with children who have Autism through the Early Autism Project and spent the last year tutoring grades 1 - 12 with the Life Management Center (all while still working at the Citadel).

I completed 4 anthropology classes in my undergraduate study while working towards a minor in Anthropology.
I have been an Academic Coach working with students who have disabilities such as ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, Processing Disorders and Memory Disorders for 6 years. I spent two years using Applied Behavioral Therapy to tutor children who have Autism and Asperger's.
I am a professional tutor, that means I tutor all day long every day. I do not have a "day job" that wears me out so I get to use all of my energy and enthusiasm during my tutoring sessions! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
