North Greenville University (Christian Studies)
Hi! My name is Molly. I have done many jobs in my twenty-three years of life - janitorial work, smoothie girl, cat kennel attendant, nanny/babysitting, even construction - but my favorite by far has been tutoring and teaching. During my four years at North Greenville University, I was a writing tutor for English and Christian Studies students, and I also was a teacher's assistant, which required me to help grade papers for formatting, content, and grammar errors. Even though I graduated from NGU, I have continued tutoring at a technical school for writing and presentations. My favorite thing about tutoring is helping students discover their learning style, adopt authentic ideas, uncover potential, achieve success, and discover their passion.
All throughout my elementary, middle, and high school years I completed extensive grammar curriculum. In high school, I took a class called Student Writing Intensive, which taught me how to write successful essays and to be a more clear, concise, and creative writer. In university, I was a teacher's assistant, a writing tutor, and I also was a member of a public speaking team, not to mention that my major (Christian Studies) required me to write lengthy research papers. I am also currently employed at a technical college as a Writing Tutor specializing in English.
I believe that knowledge is power but learning is responsibility, and that responsibility doesn't have to be tedious or uninteresting. Let me help you see that :) Hi! My name is Molly. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated from North Greenville University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Studies. I have been a student of the Bible most of my life and I have been involved in ministry for almost as long. I have experience in Christian apologetics and other religious studies as well.
I have been tutoring in English for almost four years now at the college level, and I'm a current tutor of Writing and English at Central Carolina Technical College.
I was a member of an apologetics ministry team for one and a half years, during which I prepared and taught lectures/gave speeches of various length and on various subjects. I have ministry experience working with Power Point presentations as well, and in college I took a number of classes which required me to make presentations and speeches, including Oral Comm 101.
