I hope whatever day you are reading this finds you well! My name is Preston J and I am a current Westside High school teacher in Anderson, SC. My wife and I have been in special education for a combined 7 years and it is something that we are highly passionate about. Much of what I do is reteach content and provide different strategies that help overcome difficulties in the classroom. My main subjects that I have taught are Algebra 1 and 2, and US history. I have worked with students of all ages for approximately 9 years now though various outlets. I am very flexible, and with enough notice, can make most any time work throughout the week. As a special education teacher my range of knowledge must be particularly broad, and I currently teach on an inclusion model in multiple algebra 1 and 2 courses.

As someone with a high exposure to students with ADHD, I have found and performed different strategies in the classroom that have shown to be highly effective in a students understanding of the subject matter.

Much of my life I have been infatuated by American History. During my college career, I took multiple history courses and was at the top of my class in each of these courses. This subject is so important because it gives you a basic understanding of what we have gone through as a country, the good and bad, and I have loved to flesh this out for years. Be prepared for open discussions as well as different activities that I have found are great for understand American history.
