I am excited to find a meaningful way after retirement! My name is Karen C. I have been teaching for 27 years in the great state of South Carolina. During that time, I taught for 7 years in Elementary Mathematics with Aiken and Barnwell School Districts. After transitioning to Middle School, I taught for 20 years in Middle School Mathematics at several schools in Aiken County. I graduated from the University of South Carolina-Aiken in 1993 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and later became certified in Middle School Mathematics. Throughout my career, I prepared to do my best as teaching because it was my gift from the Lord. During my tenure, I was blessed to be rewarded the District Teacher and Teacher of the Year with Barnwell School District. Teaching mathematics is my passion. After I formally retired, I become an Aiken County Certified Tutor (2019) and currently I am a Mathematics consultant with New Horizons (2019-2-2023) providing strategies and support for middle school and elementary teachers. I have been married for 36 years and am the mother of two wonderful children and five great grandchildren!My husband is also a mathematics teacher by trade and a Pastor. We both work together to share and knowledge and the goodness of the Lord with those we encounter. My hobbies are reading, playing games on my phone/iPad.
I have a passion for helping all children reach their potential and love to challenge students to be curious and take chances when learning. I believe all students can succeed. I cannot wait to kick off a new source of teaching by working as a Tutor to students and parents who are interested in giving their children an opportunity to thrive educationally.
