University of Rhode Island (Biology)
Hello! I'm a University of Rhode Island alum, who graduated summa cum laude in 2016 with a B.S. in biology and in Animal & Veterinary Science. I worked as a tutor for the URI athletes for three years of my undergrad as well as a research assistant in a lab researching natural alternatives to small ruminant dewormers!
I love helping students reach that 'aha' moment as well as building a relationship with my clients! I believe learning is much more fun when it is in a low pressure, one on one environment with someone who is investing not only in your education but also in a relationship. The one on one environment helps me to tailor information you are learning to your learning style and helping students reach their potential is such a rewarding experience for me!
I took biology, ecology, and genetics classes in my years as an undergraduate at the University of Rhode Island, where I earned both a B.S. in Biology and a B.S. in Animal Science.
I took the SAT when in high school and excelled at the reading section. I would love to pass on my tips!
I have both a passion for science and two degrees (B.S.) in the sciences, as well as a great personality for making learning fun for elementary aged students!
I cannot wait to hear from you! I am always looking forward to the honor of assisting students in achieving their goals and working to their maximum potential! Hello! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a B.S. in biology, which included a class in genetics as well as a genetics lab. I received an A in the lab and an A- in the class. I have performed experiments with Drosophila in order to discover how different genes were being inherited. I also have experience tutoring in animal genetics, a class offered at the University of Rhode Island covering the genetic aspects of food animal production.
