I'm John! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and a minor in Sociology. My years of tutoring have included helping Providence College students with essay writing in the classroom, working as a literacy volunteer for adults who found basic reading to be a challenge, teaching a successful after-school program in chess, and working for many years in assorted group homes for adults and kids with autism.

They say that patience is a virtue, and I think I encompass that particular quality. Each person, young or old, from any walk of life, has a unique story to tell. Whatever his or her skill level happens to be, that student has gifts that are waiting to be tapped into. Most people have a preferred path to learning, and I try to use that path to accomplish their specific goals.

In addition to tutoring, I have written professional reviews and articles for numerous magazines and online publications, including MacWorld, InfoWorld, Perceptual and Motor Skills, and PsychCentral.com. In my younger years, I authored a book about trivia.

I want to help students I work with to reach the goals they wish to reach, in whatever manner they find most appropriate, useful, and comfortable. I welcome suggestions and resources from students or parents in pursuit of this undertaking, and I will provide fast responses to all inquiries. Let's touch base to discuss the details...or to schedule a lesson!
