I am a multidiscipline economics professor who has taught basic economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, public finance, and public policy courses at 3 major universities as well as on-line courses for a New England university. I received several teaching awards and was selected to teach an honors version of a core economics courses. I also teach applied math concepts to help students take standardized tests.
I've had an accomplished professional career as a senior administrator in both the public and private sectors, including positions in higher education at highly ranked universities. I also consult for families/students in the college admissions process to help them become better informed in their decision making process for selecting colleges.
My education includes an undergraduate degree in economics from West Point (4.0) and a graduate degree in Public Administration from The Kennedy School at Harvard University (3.8).
My teaching methods include a multifaceted approach that include practical applications (real-world examples), mathematical understanding, and graphical explanations. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I do institutional research at a Division 1 level university; in this capacity, I do research on colleges with emphasis on college performance and admission statistics and criteria. I am also well versed in how to find accurate and up to date information on colleges and the right questions students and parents should ask during the admissions process.

My undergraduate economics degree included econometrics, advanced statistical methods, and multiple calculus courses. My graduate degrees included completing a doctoral level math course, multiple analytic and quantitative methods courses, and applied statistics. Additionally, I have taught multiple economics and finance courses than involve teaching students how to use math concepts to solve problems.
I am a former All-State player, a 3 time letter winner on State Championship team; and I played for a Division 1 college program.
I am a National D license (USSF) coach who has coached competitive boys (U10-U12) and girls (U10-U14) teams.
I am a board member of a 1,000 player soccer organization.
I have taught freshmen orientation course and time management/study skills seminars at 2 colleges. The orientation seminars include components on time management, academic success strategies, and study skills.
