Hello everyone! My name is Peter and I am a rising 4th year medical student at Brown University. Hello everyone! My name is Peter and I am a rising 4th year medical student at Brown University. Ever since I signed up to tutor the sciences and math in high school, teaching has been a passion of mine. I love looking at the issues my students are facing and helping to make the material stick, translating it in a way that generates greater understanding.

Since high school, my teaching assignments have taken me from the rural farms of Kenya, to the halls of Harvard Medical School, to my founding of an educational initiative during my medical training. On the side, I have tutored and advised numerous students along the way, specializing in math, biology, and test prep (MCAT, GMAT, and USMLE).

I majored in economics at Middlebury College, receiving the Harry M Fife Memorial Award in Economics upon graduation with a major GPA of 3.9. Many of these courses centered on or involved Statistics and Regression Analysis. I mastered the GMAT as well in preparation for applying to MBA programs, after studying with the GMAT Official Guides and Magoosh. I love teaching math and GMAT test prep, breaking concepts down step by step to meet my students where they are and bring them to where they would like to be.

I also majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology while at Middlebury, one of the college’s most rigorous majors. Afterwards, I worked in a cardiology lab at Harvard Medical School, instructed STEM for high school students at a renowned Harvard Medical School program, mastered the MCAT, and enrolled in medical school at Brown University, where I am a rising 4th year student and student body president. I have tutored high school, college, and medical students both formally and informally in biology and chemistry over the last ten years and enjoy making material as understandable and digestible as possible until my students walk away satisfied conquering their challenges.

I took the USMLE Step 1 in April 2018, earning the ability to pursue the specialties of my dreams. I received incredible advice along the way while preparing that I then implemented and altered for myself. I have loved passing this knowledge to the younger medical students so they can achieve their dreams as well.

I am available for live and online lessons. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to learn more about how we can work together to overcome any obstacles you are facing as a student!

**Note: I am happy to accommodate individual schedules to find a time that works; however, please note that I request a 24-hour notice for lesson cancellations. Otherwise, students are responsible for the full fee of the lesson.**

Guiding high school students through the admissions process to achieve acceptance at their dream schools is a passion of mine! I have served as an interviewer for Middlebury College over the past four years, and am one of only two medical students from the Class of 2020 to serve on the MD Admissions Committee at Brown University. Here, I read student files, interview them, and participate in discussions with MD faculty and staff regarding the best students to admit. I also have assisted over 20 high school students with college planning and career development in the past through a local program. I enjoy paying forward my experiences and knowledge to help high school students perfect their resumes, college essays, letters of recommendation, and more to get into their ideal college or program! Please contact me if you are interested in either single or packaged sessions tailored to your goals.
