Me llamo Señorita DiSepio! I have been teaching Español for 10 years and have conducted private tutoring for more. I have a lot of love and passion for the culture and the language. I am very excited to share this passion with you all. My love for Spanish started when I was 15 years old, a junior in high school, and I decided to participate in an exchange program to Argentina. I went to the small town of Elisa, Santa Fe. There I just didn't learn the Spanish language, but also the humility and compassion of what it means to be Argentine. While there I went to school for 6 months and lived with a host family. To this day my friendships are just as strong and they are part of who I am today. I returned to Argentina to study in Buenos Aires for a semester and Santa Fe for another semester in college. I graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin with a major in International Relations, Spanish and and a minor in Latin American Studies. Later on, I went on to complete my Masters in Education from Regis University in Denver, CO. To this day I continue my travels for professional development opportunities.
I have taught in Colorado and Massachusetts and I am licensed to teach both in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. My experience ranges from beginners to Advanced Placement and as far as 5 honors. I have led student tours to Spain to experience the language and culture first hand. Whether is it vocabulary acquisition, verb conjugations, listening and reading strategies or conversational practice, I can help you to be successful. At an advanced placement level, I can help you develop listening and reading skills, write short letters and persuasive essays as well succeeding on the interpersonal dialogue and oral presentation part of the exam. For lower levels, we can focus on homework help and test preparation. Every student is an individual and we can work with both your personal strengths and weaknesses to succeed in your current class. Learning another language is not an easy task, but with practice and my communicative approach it can be attainable.
I love tutoring students one or one because we are able to focus on you and your personal learning style. In addition to teaching I have always tutored students. Spanish can be fun especially with a little help and when you are feeling more confident in the subject matter. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve success! I know Spanish is not easy for everyone and with extra help, whether it is with homework, a project, or preparing for an assessment we can improve your skills and your grade. I am available most days after school and have a flexible schedule. Contact me for more information! Me llamo Señorita DiSepio!
