“**Supportive and positive with a deep understanding of calculus**”

I have two bachelors degrees, one in Applied Mathematics and one in Earth Science. I am currently attending Brown university to obtain a PhD in Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences with a focus in oceanography.

For mathematics, my strengths are in calculus, linear algebra and ODE/PDE. I have also taken courses in abstract

Calculus 2 was easily the most difficult math class I have ever taken. After doing poorly on my midterm I enlisted Jenna to help me understand concepts and better utilize the calculator that was allowed in my exams. Not only did she solve particular problems like you would expect from a good tutor, but she wrote out sequences and series concepts in a way that was more concise and readable than my textbook. This clarity of writing comes from a deep understanding by this tutor.

Jenna was always punctual and quick to respond to questions. I highly recommend her to any student who is struggling with a math class, because I would not have passed Calculus 2 without her support and positive attitude.

Jenna did a great job in showing me the way to set up problems and to get to start thinking more "mathematically" which is something I really need to improve in. She was nice and straightforward.

I needed a tutor to help me prepare for the Quantitate Reasoning section of the GRE. I was beyond frustrated with the exam and was about to take it for the third time. I just took the exam for the third time and Jenna helped me raise my score by over 10 points! I could not be any happier. Jenna is not only super knowledgable and patient but she also supplies a plethora of material to help students prepare. She was accommodating to my schedule and often sent me quizzes and worksheets so I can work on math from home. Jenna was also very kind, and positive.

I could not have done it without Jenna.

Jenna and I reviewed my drills in preparation for the GRE. She broke each problem into smaller parts and illustrated exactly how I am to answer them!

Jenna was very accommodating to us, responsive, flexible, always available when we needed her, kind and very patient. She not only tutored my daughter in calculus, but went on to tutor her in physics, a subject which Jenna hadn't tutored before. Jenna did an excellent job in both subjects, and helped my daughter get through a very tough AP calculus class as well as a very challenging physics class. We highly recommend Jenna to anyone that needs tutoring in either calculus or physics!

Jenna went over two of my Calc exams with me and went over the areas where I got the question wrong. She also explained different concepts I was struggling with and showed me easier ways to look at them.

From September until December 2015, I met with Jenna on weekends in preparation for the GRE exam. I knew I needed someone knowledgeable as well as patient. I am not one who takes standardized tests very often so I needed the right guidance. She showed me great ways to tackle the math section, ease through the reading section and gave me great feedback on how to prepare for the essay portion. I feel ready to take on the GREs in the next couple of weeks!

Jenna was a wonderful math tutor! She was patient and supportive. She gave me the space to struggle with problems and offered clues in such a way that allowed me to solve problems on my own. Our work together definitely increased my confidence in my math abilities. I highly recommend working with her.

Jenna was a fantastic math tutor for the GRE! She has extensive knowledge about the exam and was able to give me problems that were likely to show up on the test. She has many materials she is willing to share as well. She was very patient and has the ability to explain problems in a variety of ways! I would recommend her to anyone who wants to improve their score on the Quantitative portion of the exam.

Jenna was full of useful, practical advice on how to take the ACT and how to master central math concepts.

Jenna went out of her way to find out what was needed, and worked tirelessly to to help my son succeed in Algebra 2. We highly recommend her!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have passed the algebra test offered by WyzAnt and have been tutoring students requiring work in algebra for quite some time. When I tutored at my institution during my undergrad, many of the students I attended to were struggling with pre-college concepts. This enabled me to develop good techniques for tutoring the basics.

I have taken two semesters of ordinary differential equations and one semester of partial differential equations. I received an A in all of these courses. I have been exposed to Differential equations in my modeling courses, physics courses and research as well.

I have taken one semester of Discrete Math, plus two semesters of advanced analysis and one of complex analysis for which the tools learn in such a class are implemented. I received an A for each of those courses. I have a B.S. in both Applied Mathematics and Earth Science.

I have tutored finite math at my university for 2 years. I have also taken upper level linear algebra, probability and statistics as well as discrete math.

I have taken one semester of Linear Algebra and received an A. I have also used it extensively in MATLAB programming over the last year. I also have a B.S. in both Applied Mathematics and Earth Science.

I have been programming for around four years (one full year of coursework, three research based), and MATLAB is the primary language used in my PhD research.

I have passed WyzAnt's exams for calculus and algebra and I have an extensive background in both these areas. I was a peer leader for both calculus I and college algebra at my undergrad institution for about three years. During that time I also tutored at the library of my school for subjects from pre-college math through calculus III. Additionally, I know math can be hard to study for, and I have developed some excellent techniques over the years that have proven successful in my courses.
