I have hired Norman twice, once for designing a newsletter in Microsoft word, and more recently to create my part of a power point slide show for a presentation in college-level marketing.
I got a 95/100 and 9/10 respectively for grades.
I am very thankful/humbled by Norman's expertise in terms of teaching.
Having said that I would definitely recommend you hire Norman when in need of a tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

There is a reason why certain melodies have more "voltage" than others; or why some instruments playing a melody create a dramatically different effect than the same melody on a different instrument. Ear training is a skill worth possessing for vocalists, instrumentalists and students that want to succeed on the AP Music Theory test. Your listening can be developed in a way similar to exercising a muscle - with a well planned training program.
I have taught ear training as part of an AP Music Theory course, but there are plenty of other reasons to perfect your ear training. Its so much easier figuring out songs off CDs when you can recognize popular chord progression. You will sing and play more effectively when you can hear the music in your "inner ear" before you sing or play it.

I have worked with high school students writing research papers, and have also partnered with my own three children when they had that overwhelming feeling.
