RI School of Design
BFA (Graduate Coursework)
I'm a RI School of Design grad who majored in illustration...which means I'm pretty proficient at teaching drawing and painting. Although I think of myself as quite youthful, I have 30 years of artistic experience behind me. Lately I've integrated my computer into my art- having become quite familiar with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
I'm also a wall mural painter, TV news courtroom artist, political cartoonist, and although not really related: a stand-up comic of some repute. I've taught senior citizens, teachers, and kids on a variety of artistic subjects over the years including puppetry. I have strong communicative skills and I can make things simple to understand- and fun! I'm happy to work with students of any ability- or disability. I've written 3 books- the last 2, cartoon collections. I've done special caricatures for many local politicians, judges, and CEOs. I'd be happy to share my talents with you. Hi!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
