I am a PhD Organic Chemist with also Physics BA and a math minor. I have 29 years experience in the chemical industry. This has included specialty electronic chemical R&D and more recently Pharmaceutical R&D. I have worked in specialty chemicals manufacturing in management and been responsible for the work of a number of chemists. I am currently instructing chemistry labs for URI providence campus. I have also volunteered to help with chemistry of a local private high school in the recent past. My teaching style is personable with emphasis on requiring the student to think through the problems and provide the answers.

He is the reason I am passing Organic chemistry and is so patient and kind. He makes sure you know the material well before moving on the the next topic. Definitely recommend!
Explained my questions and more thoroughly. was very helpful and patient when explaining parts of chapter 15, carboxylic acids and reactions. Went over several skills book questions.
I had Charles help me with chemistry at the college level and he was very kind and patient with teaching and helping me understand concepts.
There wasn't a question I asked that Charles couldn't answer! I'm slow to process information and need things broken down to the most basic level so I can work problems out. He was very patient explaining things that it seems a college student should already know.
My daughter meet Charles for the first time and he made her feel at ease. Charles was very nice and knowledgeable in chemistry which my daughter is having trouble with. They meet at the URI library and my daughter said Charles was very helpful. She plans to meet with him once a week
He is extremely patient and teaches until you understand the concepts fully.
He is very intelligent and has a great approach to teaching.
Charles (Chuck) is tutoring our son in chemistry. Chuck goes over material very carefully and clearly and is able to explain complicated material very well.
Charles tutor my daughter in Organic Chemistry at the college level. Charles is very knowledgeable and excellent tutor. He is very patient and I highly recommend Charles for tutoring in Chemistry.
Charles is tutoring me on Organic Chemistry, the lesson flowed and went very smooth. He is very engaging. I will continue our lessons well into the coming college fall season.
My daughter explained that she likes Chuck because of the way he approaches tutoring. She likes that Chuck engages in her learning activity – he would scaffold, helping as needed but keeping her engaged in doing the work. When she gets stuck, he offers a hint or points out what she isn’t seeing, but also is patient and lets her work through things. I, as the mother, found him professional, confident and patient. Excellent tutor.
Excellent tutor. Easily accessible and builds great rapport. My daughter was struggling with organic chemistry until she started working with Charles.
Charles has been extremely helpful to our URI freshman daughter. He tutored her in Organic Chemistry on a weekly basis this semester, and the results have been strong exam grades and greater confidence in the course material. She ended the course with an A- grade, which she and I are certain would not have happened with our Charles' tutoring. We highly recommend Charles as a tutor.
Chuck is patient and willing to add extra time to his tutoring schedule when the student is in a crunch period. His university experience in organic chemistry makes him a great fit to support lab and study work. I highly recommend Chuck as a tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am teaching Organic Chem at URI presently (2012)and have worked in organic chemistry for over 30 yrs.
