Hello, I am an experienced teacher with a wide background of knowledge. My love of teaching students and enjoying their creativity and young, fresh vision of life filled with energy has also helped me to maintain a young and creative approach to my own life. I have taught ESL to Adults in Connecticut as well as to children in grades K-12 in Rhode Island. My classroom experience covers all-day Kindergarten in California, substitute teaching in Connecticut, California and Rhode Island. I have held Teacher certifications in Florida, Connecticut, California and Rhode Island - Rhode Island being the latest one with an ESL endorsement. Tutoring high school students in preparing for their College Essays has also been a successful passion of mine.
My other interests center around Watercolor Painting for which I have taken 10 years of instruction. Currently my specialized field is doing watercolor pet portraits.
I also love to read, hike, play golf, travel and play with my grandchildren.
My volunteer work has been at the RI EBC House (Battered Women's Shelter) and with PPAC (Providence Performing Arts Center) for the past 15 years where I have been a Coordinator of high school students. And throughout the years, I have been a PTA Co-President, school volunteer, fund raiser, softball coach and the EGHS College and Career Center volunteer.
I continue to look forward to be engaged with students in an effort to better their academic learning. Hello, I am an experienced teacher with a wide background of knowledge. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
