Hi! My name is Maria-Grace. I love to learn and share knowledge! Currently, I am clinical lab science. I have completed an Associates Degree in Health Science. While perusing my Associates degree I was carefully selected by the administration of my college to tutor my peers. While pursuing my degree, I have gained several years of real world tutoring experience. More importantly, I have successfully helped my students achieve their maximum potential.

Math and science are my strong points. I recognize that each student is unique and require a tailored approach to that fits their individual learning style. Study Skills

During my time as a peer tutor I have worked with many students to improve their study skills. The areas of weakness that I commonly saw were an inability to effectively take notes, problems setting a proper study schedule/environment, trouble with finding a way to deconstruct material into small parts, disorganization and issues with finding a way making and using study materials. First, I help the students to find what type of learners they are. Then use that information to develop the most effective way to study. I demonstrate the use of outline format to take notes. Also, I encourage the use of different colored highlighters to differentiate important material. I work with the students to make their own materials to study, such as making flashcards and practice with diagrams by blacking out the answers and testing themselves. I help the students to organize themselves create binders with separators for each section. Finally, help students find the best study area and schedule for them.

At Providence College, a Catholic Institution, I earn a minor in the intensive Development of Western Civilization program. This was 4, 5 credit classes taught by a theology, philosophy, literature, and history professor. Addition, I have 6 theology and 6 philosophy credits. Also, I went to a Catholic high school where we were taught Catholic and world religion. From K-8 grade I attended CCD.
