In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I possess a total of over 30 years experience Helping individuals to evaluate their skills, education and other characteristics in order to ascertain what needs required to create a career development plan specifically tailored to the individual, and provide the seminars and workshops required to reach the established goals of the plan.
Career Development is a process which is tailored to the organization or the individual depending on which is the primary target. In organizational development the study looks at how the individuals manage their careers within and between organizations and how the organizations structure the career progress of their employees. Usually this is also tied in with Succession Planning. In Personal Development we look at the total accumulation of psychological, sociological, educational, physical, economic and change factors, which combine to help identify the nature and significance of work during the entire lifespan of an individual. It may also look at the evolution or development of a career formed by the individual's experience within a specific field of interest, the level of success attained at each stage of development and his or her educational attainment.
Ultimately we study the lifelong psychological and behavioral processes as well as inflouences shaping the individual's career during his or her lifespan. It involves the individual's creation of a career pattern, his or her choice of a decision-making style, the integration of their life roles, expression of values and self concepts.
The general and fundamental purpose of an ongoing career development program is to provide a means for employees to advance within or without a company. When provided by the employer, employees are reminded that their employer is concerned with their future and committed to supporting them with the necessary tools to attain their career goals. Of course it is also of benefit to the organization, a well structured career development plan may save the organization from having to spend money hiring, training and replacing employees that leave the company because they feel they are not being appreciated by their employer.
Have used and continue to use Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Publisher, Power Point and others to design, prepare and present graphics and documents for presentations, courses and seminars. Have created webpages, advertisements, course materials, product guides and manuals and promotional literature for dozens of manufactured products entering the international markets. I have done all this in both English and Spanish. I have also used other programs such as Corel Paint, Magix Web Designer, Microsoft Paint and Newsletter Designer.
I'm proficient at using most if not all Microsoft Office products. I have complete educational resources to teach the use of any of these products and I particularly have configured and utilized Microsoft Outlook as an email manager for many years.
As with most other Microsoft products I am quite proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and possess the necessary skills to help others to learn to use it appropriately. I also have resources to help me teach the use of this program.
Phtography has been a hobby to me all my life, I have owned all types of cameras and photographic equipment, some of which are now totally obsolete. From single use cameras to digital cameras, from Polaroid to Hasselblad, I have used them all. I operated my own photo studio when I was going to college and did my own black and white developing and printing. I performed at weddings, birthday parties, social events and even funerals. I assisted in the preparation of a documentary for the Catholic church after a storm hit one of our cities worst off communities where Father John Lavin worked. He wanted to obtain funds from the government to restore the damaged housing and other necessities. I still own several digital cameras including a Nikon SLR.
After 30 years of instructional experience conducting courses, seminars, workshops and other public speaking events at local hotels and business centers, I believe I have the skills, knowledge and experience to teach this to others. I also possess teaching resources for this subject.
