I have been involved in industrial chemical research (including pharmaceutical and biotech)for over 20 years. I have instructed technicians and chemists alike and have made presentations at major industrial meetings. I have a publication in a leading analytical journal and am co-inventor on a patent in synthetic chemistry.
I struggled with organic chemistry early on, until I realized the key is "don't memorize". Of course, some basic rules should be so well-entrenched that they become almost rote, but organic chemistry is a science and when treated with the same view as physics or math, it can also be comprehended and applied to future problems.
I have helped family members and friends through their chemistry courses, and I consider myself to be innovative and well-tempered while instructing. Most importantly, I have a good sense of humor! I would welcome the challenge of leading enthusiastic learners down the path to a better understanding of organic chemistry. Frank is very knowledgeable and he stuck to exactly what I needed to know for the class (never wasted time). He researched my topics and gave me extra informative papers and communicated through email if I had a hard time with topics. He always allowed enough time for us to go over material, and I never felt rushed. He was never late to our weekly meetings, very dependable. He helped me reach an A- in Organic Chemistry. I highly recommend Frank to other students!
My chemistry grades greatly improved after I started getting help from Frank. He was very flexible and even came multiple times within the week before an upcoming test. He also explained the content in different ways several times to ensure I understood the concepts. Definitely affordable and very patient!
Frank is extremely knowledgeable in the field of Chemistry, and has helped my daughter to prepare for that part of the 2015 MCAT. He has the talent to convey his knowledge in such a way that makes it very easy to understand.
Frank taught my son high school Chemistry. Frank is one of the smartest science teachers I have ever met and we are so grateful to have had him as one of our teachers for our home-schooled son! He is a distinguished college professor at Drexel University and is just a top notch teacher.
-flexible, courteous, kind and patient
-evident that Frank enjoys chemistry and explains concepts in easy to understand ways
-encouraging every session!
-our daughter's confidence increased and stress decreased regarding chemistry!
-only regret: not starting with Frank months earlier!!!!
Like most nursing students, I was dreading taking Chemistry, and realized right away that I was going to need a tutor for extra help. Frank is an awesome tutor, who has a lot of knowledge in chemistry , but also knows how to break down all of the concepts so that someone like myself would understand better. Frank is also very flexible and is great when it comes to changing meeting times or dates.
Mr. Frank has a great deal of knowledge in chemistry. He helps you start off this course with the basic dimensional analysis and then helps you build steps to further your understanding of the course.
Nice guy but I didn't care for the way he tutored. Frank didn't have enough patience with me and that made me feel uncomfortable. Also I'm finding a lot of these tutors mention that you should drive closer to them or meeting them closer to their location which is very annoying. He mentioned if I could go close to where he lives and when I said that won't work I saw on his face he was annoyed with me. I feel the site should tell their tutors not to mention this especially when people ask for in-home tutoring. Overall I wouldn't use him again, but his prices are reasonable.
Mr. Frank has been a huge help with my daughter's 9th grade algebra. I would strongly recommend him. We plan to continue the lessons, we are very satisfied.
Frank is absolutely fantastic. He breaks down complicated organic chemistry concepts into very simple terms, and has an arsenal of worksheets and handouts to let you borrow if you ever need some more review. I always leave our weekly sessions with a good grasp on confusing material to the point where I go from being able to do about half of our homework assignments to understanding how to do every single problem–without even asking him for help on specific problems!
Frank’s very punctual, and has no problem going over concepts until you understand them. He's very prompt about replying to your emails, and will even send you supplementary material throughout the week. He also implements methods that actually train you to think in a certain way, which is so helpful when it comes to solving problems on my own later on. He’s very upfront about what you will probably need to expect out of an organic chemistry course, but he’s willing to walk you through all the concepts you need to know to get a great score.
Frank was an excellent tutor for my son. Frank is straightforward and keeps the principles of chemistry easy to understand. Further, Frank was very flexible with his schedule to meet the timing needs for my son to excel in chemistry. With Frank's assistance, he was able to increase his grade by a full grade.
I would highly recommend Frank to tutor your child. You will see immediate results with your child being able to better understand the material, as well as seeing an increase in their scores.
We've had a very rewarding experience with Mr. Frank as my high school daughter's AP Chemistry tutor. He provided one on one tutoring in the comfort of our home. My daughter's grades immediately improved as he reviewed homework assignments, past exams, and current class notes. Mr. Frank was punctual on a weekly basis for 4 months. He stressed mastery of the conceptual and quantitative aspects of chemistry, by enhancing my daughter's qualitative understanding, and analytic and reasoning skills. He was consistently patient and built my daughter's confidence and fundamental understanding of Chemistry. Mr. Frank is highly recommended as a AP Chemistry tutor.
Mr. Frank worked with me throughout the whole semester in Chemistry. After taking the course 2 other times (unsuccessfully), I was able to get through it with Frank's help. I thought I hated Chemistry, but working with Frank has definitely increased my interest. Frank is very patient, kind, and really knows what he is teaching. I would highly recommend Frank. I couldn't have passed without him!
Frank M. is excellent tutor, very caring and patient. Extremely knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.
Frank tutored my son in high school chemistry and prepared him well for each exam and quiz as needed. He takes the necessary time to explain complex topics in simple terms and ensures the student understands the concepts as evident in strong test results! Frank is highly reliable and we strongly recommend Frank for chemistry and algebra tutoring!
Frank connects easily with students and is able to break down complex principles so students can better understand them. He's just a great teacher!!!
My daughter feared that she would fail Chemistry. We were at a loss, no help from guidance counselor and other tutors too expensive, too busy etc. Mr. Frank was in our general area and his rates were very reasonable. He came to my home and sat with my daughter until she understood the material. He has the knowledge but more importantly he is passionate about teaching! My daughter's test scores improved with each tutor session. A great experience and an excellent tutor. We are indebted to him.
Great Job, my son is ready and needs no additional tutoring. He will stay the course until further notice.
My name is Sharon and I had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Frank about 5-6 times, is he on time and very patient with his clients. Mr Frank shows you how to break down the problem in a couple of different ways so you will be able to understand it the easiest for yourself. I passed my algebra class with a C, but that was because of me not Mr. Frank. I DON'T LIKE MATH AT ALL. If I would have called Mr. Frank earlier in the semester, I would have gotten an A. Thank you Mr. Frank for your unique way of tutoring. Also Mr. Frank is a professional and he knows his stuff.
I have worked with Frank for the past twelve weeks and he has been committed to my learning. He believes in his students by going over and beyond to make sure you understand your subject. I would recommend his services to anyone who needs a qualified tutor. He does not stop until you understand the subject. Thanks for your patience and support.
Frank was our son's tutor for more than three months. We have been very lucky to find such a great teacher as Frank. His professionalism, dedication and ability to explain the most complex material helped our son improve his performance in Chemistry (our son's tests scores soared), and get good grades for the final term and for the year. Frank spent as much time as was needed until he was sure that our son knew the material well. My husband and I we both have extensive teaching experience and we can recommend Frank as a very efficient, dedicated and overall excellent tutor. Our son has a very high opinion of him.
I have not been a student in a class since my sophomore year in college. My experience and knowledge of math was much more than limited. Through my own and husband's efforts I managed to acquire a mastery of 5th grade math.
When I began my studies to become a Pharmacy Technician, I quickly realized my success in that field would hinge upon mastering a relatively complex knowledge of conversions and algebra calculations. Without Frank's patience, persistence and effective teaching I would not have been able to learn the required skills and pass the state exam for certification as a Pharmacy Technician. Frank was able to build my confidence through his ability to find different ways to teach me the calculations if I was unable to get it the first or second time. He never made me feel like I couldn't learn what seemed impossible. He is really a very talented teacher.
I highly recommend Frank whose effort and support proved to be invaluable. Thank you Frank!
Thank You Frank for all your help. I had a difficult time with math and Frank helped me so much. I had my first test and I passed. I got all the math problems right. Frank is very patient and took the time to explain things to me. I would highly recommend Frank and I look forward to working with Frank again.
Frank is an energetic, knowledgable and down-to-earth tutor. He assisted me in studying for my mid-term exam in general chemistry and was able to cut through alot of the concepts, theories and math to help provide a cohesive picture of the subject matter. His use of real-world examples helped to bring some very abstract concepts to life, I would recommend him to anyone and plan on having him assist me in the future!
Thank you so much for your review. I look forward to working with you again.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Algebra 1 is the cornerstone of understanding math and science. I attempt to help students learn how to approach problems that require discovering unknown variables from known information, and how to recognize these situations in the many different forms they can take. I am very passionate about teaching algebra, but am more passionate about students learning it and having some fun along the way as they experience how algebra can be "learnable" and even practical.
Chemistry is about what we are from; the construction of our cells, to the transmission of ideas in our brains. I am in awe of this subject matter and am always trying to learn more about it (a never ending quest) and to show others how this subject affects our daily lives. Tutoring this subject is a mighty and noble challenge and is rewarding.
I have been an Organic Analytical chemist for over 20 years. I have had experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and industrial fields. I am familiar with most qualitative tests to determine functional groups, and am well-versed in infra-red analysis and HPLC and GC. I have analyzed small molecules (alcohols and glycols) by GC, and large molecules (lipids, liposomes, and surfactants) by HPLC.
I am currently an Algebra 1 and Chemistry tutor and am very proficient in pharmacy calculations. I helped a student with a fifth grade understanding of math pass her Pharmacy Tech exam. I am also prepping another student with a third grade math background take her GED. I am well suited to help pharmacy interns take and pas their exams.
I try to make the student's entrance into algebra one that flows from their knowledge of arithmetic. I constantly go back to the principles of arithmetic and show the student how algebra flows from the knowledge of arithmetic he or she already has in hand. This changes the concept of algebra from being something "out there" to a tool that can open new ways to look at math and actually be enjoyable.
A background check for Frank was ordered on 3/2/15 and is in pending status. A tutor will have a “pending” status while the background check is processed and/or evaluated. This status covers 3 situations: 1) a background check is being processed, 2) a background check has been completed, but the tutor is reviewing it and has the right to dispute its accuracy or completeness, or 3) the person has a pending arrest/charge or deferred adjudication. Regardless of the reason, if a person has had a pending status for 30 days, he or she will be removed from the website.
