About David

I enjoy tutoring in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics because these subjects are all about trying new things and finding what works. While getting a degree in Biomedical Engineering, I had the opportunity to tutor students privately, and as a teaching assistant. Before college, I was recommended by high school teachers to tutor younger students.

I have taught dozens of students, both privately, and in classroom settings.

My general availability is after 5:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am-8:00pm on weekends. I am happy to meet at the student's home or at a local library.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 2

I am a recent college graduate in engineering. My college courses included high level math. I have tutored in algebra before.

Calculus

I took AP calculus in high school and achieved the highest rating on the final test. I also tutored and was a TA for calculus courses in college.

Chemistry

Received 5 (highest score) on AP Chemistry Test in 2010
Took Organic Chemistry and Bio-Chemistry in college
Tutored for Freshman Chemistry while in College

MATLAB

I was a TA for the basic MATLAB course series for 3 years in college.

I was involved in work for 2 research labs while in college, both of which used MATLAB extensively.

One project was to program a robotic arm for high precision surgery, and the other was for segmentation of different bones around joint space given CT data in the form of a point cloud.
