I am a Elementary Education K-6 and ESL certified instructor. For the past 4 years, I have worked as a Kindergarten teacher in Hampton Township, 5th Grade Math Instructor in Fox Chapel Area, and a substitute teacher in grades k-8 in Mars Area School Districts in various grade levels. My passion is to ignite a spark in all students encouraging them to embrace academic challenges with confidence and a zest for learning. I promote hands-on and creative learning opportunities where students enjoy learning and persevere in solving academically challenging tasks. Many of my past students have loved learning under my guidance and have demonstrated academic growth in subject areas they had previously struggled with. I have the necessary skills, experiences, and knowledge to assist learners of all abilities to be academically successful.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a certified teacher, I have provided Common Core Math Instruction to both primary and intermediate grade level students. Student scores on Common Core Math assessments increased from 79% to 94% due to my instruction. To ensure student growth and success in Common Core Math, I emphasize the eight math principles and utilize a variety of hands on activities. Additionally, I have participated in professional development training for instruction and implementing Common Core Math into the classroom.
I have provided Common Core ELA instruction to both primary and intermediate level students. Student scores on Common Core ELA assessments increased from 89% - 97% due to my instruction. I emphasize critical thinking skills and encourage students to relate to text through personal experiences. I have participated in professional development for instruction and implementing Common Core ELA into classroom.
I am a certified Elementary Education K-6 and have worked within Area School Districts. I have taught Kindergarten and First Grade students in Language Arts and Reading and am currently in the process of enrolling in graduate school to pursue my Reading Specialist Degree. On average, my young learners' scores on Reading and Math Assessments have increased significantly under my instruction with an increase in math scores from 79%-94% in Math and from 89%-92% in Reading. More importantly, struggling learners have come to be enthusiastic, engaged, and motivated in the material I present and teach.
I am a certified Elementary Education K-6 and ESL certified teacher. Recently, I was employed as a Kindergarten teacher where I instructed students in Common Core ELA and Math. As a primary teacher, your main focus is teaching students to read and thus your lessons comprise of activities focusing on phonemic awareness, letter/sound relationships, onset and rime, beginning, medial, and ending sounds, rhyming, and word building. All of which are essential early literacy skills necessary for reading. My experience as a Kindergarten teacher has provided me with the expertise to instruct students in phonetics and early literacy skills.
