I have a degree for teaching and am an MA graduate from Trinity International University. I have three years experience of tutoring college students and fifteen with high school/elementary students, both in the United States and abroad. I have tutored for 3 years at Nyack College-Division of Student Success. I began as a peer tutor for Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Old Testament and New Testament. Then I became a professional tutor for the same subjects mentioned above, and also for World Civilizations I and II. In 2012, I was certified as Proctor/Reporter for Celsa, ATB, and Accuplacer exams. Most students I tutored have achieved high grades in their classes. I have received the best tutee evaluation of tutor for the past 3 years.
My methods differ based on the student's strengths/weaknesses and are contingent on individual needs. My methods of tutoring are numerous: I teach the student how to overcome challenges in reading an assigned text in a textbook; some students I teach the mapping method, others the cornel method, or how to highlight or write a summary on an index card.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
