I am a graduate student who has some experience tutoring. I am currently in school for my Master's in Secondary Education for History, but am proficient in English, as well. I love helping students learn because when they are learning and succeeding it becomes fun. Every student deserves to make the most out of their learning experience and I like knowing I will have a hand in that.
I have always succeeded in English, both in high school and college. Being a history major meant writing an enormous amount of papers. These had to be well-written and grammatically correct. As a manager at a country club, I have tried to keep my writing and proofreading skills up-to-date by reviewing college student employees' papers. They always ended up doing well and would later ask me to read more papers, write reference letters, etc.
My undergraduate degree was focused strictly on history and I have taken numerous U.S. History courses. I have a real passion for early American history and Constitutional history. I am also well-versed in 20th century American history. My graduate education courses have helped me in forming lesson plans and strategies for teaching.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
