As an educator, both public and private, for over 30 years, my love is to teach awareness of the subject. Environmental Science is my passion - working from energy and energy conservation, smart growth and green building, recycling, and the true meaning of earth, science and stewardship of taking care of our earth.
I have taught for over 10 years for the E-3 program in the Montrose School District...Earth, Energy, and Ecology. This program is taught to the participating schools at Salt Springs State Park in an effort to assist with teaching the environmental standards that the state of Pa. requires within the schools.
I have worked with energy and energy conservation projects and presentations throughout my career history, and presently direct the installations of residential wind energy within Northeast Pa. Through Trehab Agency as the portal, we have installed or guided over 37 installations of residential turbines...all at present production rates of 20 to 65% of the homeowner's consumption. All is well for renewable energy in Northeast Pa.
Presently, I also teach for Axia...the online division of the University of Arizona. I teach Environmental Science, Business Communications, and Biology.
My diverse background with regard to the environment as well as my hands on activities for all things nature...will allow for my students to, hopefully, never be bored. Call me and tell me what you wish to learn more about, what you wish more guidance in, and what excites you about life. We will work together to grow your strengths and your understanding in all things important to you.
Sincerely, Sandra As an educator, both public and private, for over 30 years, my love is to teach awareness of the subject. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I worked as an Instructor for the Welfare to work program to train adult students how to be more proficient in obtaining work. From resumes, to cover letters, to employment search...we learned it all. Presentations were given for how to do a good interview, how to present oneself to a potential employer, how to dress and hold your posture, etc.
I am a certified teacher prek-6 in PA and NY, and all reciprocal states of New York teaching certification. In 1991 I received my MA in Education.
I was a certified examiner (proxis) for the WorkKeys program within the Northern Tier Regional Development Center of N.E. Pa. 2010-2011. This program assessed examinees for general knowledge in Math, Reading, and Locating Information (ACT program) for future employment qualifications.
I have had 35 years of public speaking. I spoke on Environmental and Renewable Energy subjects throughout the Northeast Pa. region. In the public schools, I served as a special educator as well as Municipal speaker.
As a Career Advisor for adult learners, working with time management and study skills was all part of the curriculum. Each person has their own method of management and organization skills, all we have to do is find those strengths.
