Hi, I'm Victor. I recently graduated magna cum laude from Penn State with a BS in mathematics, and this fall I'll pursue a PhD in mathematics at UC Berkeley. I disliked math until my junior year of high school when I had an amazing calculus teacher who changed the trajectory of my education and career. This taught me how critical a strong math instructor is for students' learning and enjoyment. As a tutor, I empower my students to solve problems and gain confidence. When my students are stuck, I'm skilled at determining whether hints and encouragement would be enough for them to figure the problem out, or if they need more guidance. I'm also good at helping students identify their weaknesses, which helps them study efficiently between tutoring sessions.

I worked for Penn State Learning for three semesters, tutoring undergrads and grad students in calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, precalculus and some upper-level math courses. I received glowing anonymous feedback from students. Several of my students began the semester unable to start their homework, and by the end of the semester were fluent in the material and confident enough to explain it to other students at the tutoring center.

My background in math is strong. As an undergrad, I've excelled in over 20 advanced math courses, nearly two-thirds of which were at a graduate level. Given my math skill and tutoring experience, I'm confident I can tutor a wide range of math topics. If you're seeking help in an area not listed in my bio, just contact me and we can discuss whether I can help.

I've had ADHD my whole life, so I know first-hand the challenges that ADHD poses when learning math. Reflecting on my struggles with learning has helped me serve students with all backgrounds and abilities.

My goal is to help students blossom as learners and achieve their academic goals, so I welcome feedback and suggestions from students and parents. Please reach out with any questions or if you want to schedule a tutoring session!
