Pennsylvania State University (Arts Administration)
I am 19 years old and I am a student at the Pennsylvania State University in Erie, PA. I am from State College, PA and used to teach high school English classes at The Delta Program. I love being able to work with students and walk them through what they do not understand. I know what it is like to be a slow learner and I have received tutoring before as a student so tutoring is very close to my heart. I want to be able to help students grasp the concepts that they feel they cannot grasp because every one learns in different ways and sometimes it just takes a different style of teaching.
I specialize in French and English. I have a passion for languages and have been studying French for 5+ years. English is another one of my passions and I have been writing since I was very young and been an advanced reader throughout my academic career. I have received an award as a Faculty Scholar at State College Area High School for my academic performance as well as receiving the Arnold Addison academic scholarship throughout my college career thus far. On top of these things, I am on the Dean's List and a member of the Penn State Behrend Honors Program.
I have completed 5+ years of French study.
I have worked as a high school English teacher and I am a straight A english student.
My schedule is flexible and I am willing to work with students for as long as it takes for them to understand the things that they are struggling with. I am available online or in person and my base-rate is $35/per hour for either online or in-person tutoring lessons. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
