About Christina

I graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation I was hired as a Certified instructional Aide for Fleetwood School District. While in this position I was assigned to work in a learning support classroom. This opportunity inspired me to return to school and become a certified teacher for students with special needs.

My training and classroom experience has shown me the importance of individualizing instruct to meet the learning needs of each child. When I am in the classroom I use repetition, practice, and hands-on activities to help my students learn skills. These are the same methods I use with my tutoring students. I love teaching and love seeing my students become successful in their learning!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Dyslexia

I believe that every student can become a successful reader. For this reason I have researched programs and strategies to help students "break the reading code."
