This fall I am starting medical school at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine of Temple University. Originally, I completed my undergraduate degree in Philosophy at PSU and then did graduate work at Concordia University in Montréal, Canada. At Concordia I had extensive experience as a TA. I changed my plan, and decided pursue a career in medicine. I then went back to PSU to complete the science prerequisites for medical school. After my first semester taking some of the requisite science courses, I was offered a position as a peer-tutor in Biology, which consisted of weekly meetings with 5-15 students at a time. Following this appointment, I was offered position to tutor one-on one general chemistry and biology, followed then by organic chemistry and physics (algebra based). After completing my prerequisites, I finished with a science GPA of 3.97. I took the MCAT in January 2018 and scored in the 91%ile with the strong suits in C/P 130, B/B 128, and P/S 130.

I find tutoring and teaching very rewarding because every appointment with a student poses a challenge to me to be a better learner.

AAMC Test Review

He provided honest and quality advice on future study plan based on score. We went over several questions. Andrew took time to ask me additional contents questions and review key fundamentals as needed. Really improved my level of understanding! Extraordinary job.

Makes science easy to understand!

Andrew tutored me on the topics of chemistry and biology for the Australian medical school exam. He is able to explain every topic in a fun and narrative way - he makes it easy for me to absorb knowledge. Moreover, he took on the challenge to teach an exam that he is not familiar with and tutored well. Finally, he provided perfect review questions to work on.

Patient and understands how to help

Tailors the lesson to who you are and knows when a teaching approach is not working and changes to a different approach. Also understands what it is like to be a struggling student who has to work hard to get a high score.

Knowledgeable

Andrew assessed my knowledge in the subject, and then he was able to identify my weaknesses and move forward on how to help strengthen my weak skills in Organic chem. He's amazing and I look forward to him tutoring me for the rest of the semester and prep for the mcat.

Understands the MCAT content and strategies surrounding it

I had difficulty in regards to timing for the C/P and CARS section of the MCAT, which resulted in me being unable to finish on time for the first time I took the MCAT. I pointed this out to Andrew when we met and he worked out a plan to get me to the score that I wanted. He has a huge knowledge base regarding MCAT topics and answered all of my questions excellently. For CARS, when it became close to my exam date and I still had trouble regarding timing, I had one last session with him and he gave me some tips which I managed to incorporate into my practice. This allowed me to finish the CARS passage on time for the real MCAT. Overall, I would highly recommend him if you want a tutor who can help you achieve your goals.

Very Helpful in Clarifying Concepts

This lesson was very helpful. Andrew walked me through on completing a homework problem that I can apply on future questions such as exam questions. He also helped clarify concepts regarding H NMR in identifying splitting patterns as well as the different types of protons that can be seen using visual aids. Overall, this was a very valuable lesson for me and I look forward to the next one.

Great Organic Chemistry tutor

Has been very helpful in studying for my MCAT. Teaching the material from the ground up, and giving many examples and some exercises that reinforce the material we have learned.

Great MCAT Resources

He shared with me wonderful resources for the MCAT that I didn't know about. I'm so happy with them. He gave me an efficient way to prepare for the MCAT. You ought to have a session with this man if you are preparing for your MCAT.

Andrew is amazing!

Andrew is such a good tutor for the mcat! His knowledge base is so vast, and he helps with everything from chemistry to scheduling! I appreciate the way he challenges me to really think about answers and question the mcat answer stems logically.
