I know how frustrating it can be for parents and students when a child has difficulty understanding a particular subject or concept, or just needs to be shown a skill in a creative way. I truly believe that school should be an enjoyable experience for all children, and I'd like to help make that happen for your child. I have been an elementary school teacher for eighteen years. Angela already on day one has made my daughter feel like math is not a torturous subject. We look forward to many more sessions with Angela and can not thank her enough for her help!
Angela was very patient with my son. He was a little nervous going to the first meeting but at the end of the session he was smiling. She has provided great feedback and offered suggestions to help him become a better reader. I am very excited for our next session. Thank you.
When we left the session. My son was reading a flyer on the bulletin board and I said, "wow your reading". He said, I like it now.
My baby girl Mi'keyla loves her sessions with Mrs. Angela; she looks forward to learning her sight words, reading and playing some interactive educational games. Every week she reminds me that her tutor is coming and loves to talk about her sessions. I highly recommend Mrs. Angela.
My son needed help in reading and well he has only had 3 sessions with Angela so far and he loves her. Is always asking when she is coming back and wishes she would come more. With my son if he doesn't like you he doesn't like you and just shuts down, but that isn't the case with Angela. He took to her the minute she walked through the door. And we have seen improvement with his reading and again he has seen her only 3 times so far!!!! She makes it fun! He is only 8 and at a critical age, so finding Angela has been a blessing. Would recommend her with highest remarks! Couldn't have asked for a better tutor for my son!
Her way to teach is excellent. I am learning well and Teaching new way to understand English language. Homework is good.
Angela, I just wanted to let you know my son told me he enjoyed his lesson and said tonight, he can't wait until Wednesday to have another lesson. That makes one very happy mom, thanks so much!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education as well as a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. Much of my coursework was centered around the teaching of reading. I was trained in the method of Whole Language and have attended many educational workshops on various reading strategies and programs.
I teach phonics each day to grades K - 2. We work on letter recognition, letter sounds, blends, long and short vowel sounds, and the blending of letters into words. Each day we review letters previously learned, and we work on a particular rhyming word family. We also practice making sentences with words as we learn them, in order to promote a holistic view of how letters and words are used in written and verbal communication.
