I'm different and very hands-on in my approach to math. Math is not difficult but a different looking topic can provided a speed bump that slows down the learner's progress. Most of the time, the problems with a math topic are easily remedied once that hiccup is addressed.
Nothing beats that infamous "OHHHHH, Now I get it." That Eureka moment is what makes all of teaching worth it.
