My name is Lindsay and I am an enthusiastic, caring educator/mentor who firmly believes children and adults can thrive in a healthy environment. What makes me stand out amongst other tutors is how I take the time to learn about each student and observe his or her learning style and incorporate that information into my lessons. My goal is to make learning exciting and keep every student motivated to learn and excel.
I am certified in Elementary Education and Special Education. I have experience working with every type of learner. I pride myself in the success I have at reaching students and making connections in order for them to excel.
I have experience in many of Berks County Elementary School curriculums. Also, my learning support special education verification helps reach those students who are below grade level and who need extra one on one instruction.
I am a volunteer at the Food Trust and Girls on the Run programs. I am currently taking nutrition courses. I try and be a role model for children and teach students how to live a healthy life style and make healthy choices.
My grandfather was French teacher at Lawrenceville School. They were fluent, my father was fluent. I started taking learning the French language when I was twelve years old. I took advanced French when I attended St. George's School.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am certified in Special Education. After teaching various learning support classes, I have learned creative and effective techniques to help those students with ADD and ADHD become successful learners! My lessons actively engage students and keep them motivated throughout each and every lesson. My goal is for every type of learner feel confident inside and outside of school!
I am certified in elementary education and special education for the state of PA. I have been teaching within the Berks County school district for 4 years. I am familiar the current math, reading, and writing curriculums used within the school districts of Berks County.
I have been teaching elementary school language arts for five years now. I have learned through my Special Education certification classes how important it is for children to learn the fundamentals of reading. Through my unique lessons geared towards the components of reading development ( word recognition, oral language development, print awareness, read aloud, and independent reading), my students are successful!
Through taking my special education courses and receiving my certification, I have learned many strategies and techniques to help students to organize and manage their course work. After working at Huntington. Learning Center, I have also, aided students in improving study skills through customized techniques and organizational methods.
