I am a 2000 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School in Berks County in Shillington, Pennsylvania. After high school, I went onto DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, where I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. I graduated from DeSales in May of 2005. During my tenure at DeSales, I participated in baseball for four seasons. I was a member of the 2003 team that made the Division III College World Series. During my four years at DeSales, my team won four consecutive MAC championships, and I was named second team All-Conference during my junior year in 2003. I am currently in the record books at DeSales for career wins, innings pitched, strikeouts, and games started. In September of 2013, my 2003 team was inducted into the DeSales University Athletic Hall of Fame.
Following graduation, I was hired by Tamaqua Area School District as Special Education Itinerant Teacher for students ranging from K-8 during the 2005-2006 school year. During the 2006-2007 school year, I was switched to 5th grade teacher at Tamaqua Elementary School. I then taught 5th grade at West Penn Elementary for 4 years. I spent the 2011-2012 school year at Tamaqua Elementary teaching Learning Support. I am entering my 11th year teaching overall. In my spare time, I am an assistant coach of the Shillington Red Sox Senior Legion baseball team in Shillington, Pa. I received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with my Principal certification in December of 2009. During the 2013-2014 school year, my school had the highest School Performance Profile in Schuylkill County for elementary schools. I truly enjoy helping students learn in their own unique ways, especially in math.
I have been teaching Common Core subjects for the past three school years. I believe that I am adequately qualified and can provide students with the skills they need to be successful in the future.
I have been teaching fifth grade for nine school years and also taught special education for two years (I had some fifth grade students in this experience). My school was ranked as the #1 elementary school based off of our School Performance Profile in Schuylkill County for the 2013-2014 school year, which is derived from PSSA scores.
I have been involved in baseball through playing and coaching for nearly thirty years. I played baseball in high school and college. I have been coaching for the past twelve summers. My teams have won championships in three of those twelve. I have a solid connection with the community and its members through coaching American Legion baseball.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
