West Chester University (MEd)
I have a Master's in Education from West Chester University. During my 22 years in education I have taught Social Studies, spent 12 years as a high school guidance counselor and directed an alternative school acting as head administrator. As a high school counselor, I became very familiar with not only the changing landscape of college applications and testing but also on the essay writing and college interviews that can set you apart from other applicants. Throughout my career as a counselor, I have had the opportunity to have met some fine college admissions representatives who often provide me with insight that is current, school specific and may be passed along to you, giving you the awareness that you need to make the best choice for you, your family and your future.
I encourage you to sit down with your parents, assess what needs I can help you with in relation to your college and career planning, application and follow through and shoot me an email. My response will be prompt and availability will be tailored to your schedule.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a teacher/guidance counselor/principal I have not only worked with 100's of students with ADD/ADHD but successfully live with ADHD. My experiences as an educator have exposed me to several workshops and expensive research on the subject of teaching students with ADD/ADHD. I have compiled much of my personal research in collaboration with Dr Daniel Amen and Dr Edward Halloway's works and created two parent workshops that are currently being reviewed or act 48 accreditation through the PA Department of Education.
I have coached baseball at both the middle and high school level for 13 years. I currently work with a Little League coaching both the 7 and 9 year old teams. I make practice and games fun as well as incorporate into each a life lesson or theme such as integrity, accountability, peer pull ups and bouncing back from adversity.
As a high school guidance counselor I have been intimately involved with all aspects of the college application and admissions process. Starting with 6th grade career inventories to facilitating job/career fairs to developing a comprehensive college and career model from grades 6-12, I have become very familiar with post secondary institutions, and their requirements. My number one goal as a "student focused" educator was to assist a student to find their own answers. As a college counselor I made it my mission to assist each student in thoroughly researching and visiting a set of school working with students and their families to identify the best "fit"for their personality and future.
I played both high school as well as college football and have have 17 years experience coaching high school football. As a high school guidance counselor I was also the NCAA Clearinghouse liaison and have become somewhat of an expert on navigating the NCAA clearinghouse website to maintain eligibility for athletic scholarships.
