I am a current MD/PhD dual-degree graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh.

I have a long history of tutoring of students of all ages, specifically in the math and sciences. I have studied math and science for over 10 years now and have particular expertise in science & medicine, which includes Anatomy, Biology, ACT Science, Biochemistry, and MCAT prep.

I have been tutoring for ~ 10 years with great results for students! I have tutored in large group (> 10 students), small group (3-5 students), and individual settings. I enjoy 1-on-1 tutoring the most, and have been effective teaching students of all ages. I started my tutoring experiences with elementary school students, and have worked my way up to high school students (for SAT and ACT prep and to supplement what they were learning in their classes), and undergraduate college students (for their pre-med courses and for MCAT prep). I enjoy tutoring because of how much it benefitted me as I went through studying some tough concepts - hearing the material explained differently by someone other than the professor or teacher often allowed me to process the information better, and a lightbulb would go off! Seeing students light up when they understand a concept or feel prepared to tackle an assignment or standardized test is the best feeling for a tutor.

I am passionate about finding the right approach that works for the student with the understanding that different students have different needs. I have an arsenal of study approaches and strategies I've tried in the past but want to work with the student to find out what works for them. Please contact me with any questions or to schedule a time to meet!

Anatomy

Anatomy was absolutely one of my favorite subjects in medical school! I love reviewing concepts and specific body regions with students, as well as optimizing their approach to tackling anatomy-related questions on standardized exams!

Test Preparation

MCAT,

MCAT

Hello, I am a current medical student who has recent expertise in taking the new (post-2015) version of the MCAT. I have tutored a number of students on test prep: we covered content review, critical reading analysis, going through missed questions on practice exams, and optimal test-taking and study prep strategies. These students have all done well on the MCAT and progressed to medical school. I am eager to help more students optimize their study plans and approaches!
USMLE,

USMLE

I have recently taken & passed (with a high score) the USMLE Step 1 exam and have lots of experience with tutoring other students on content review, optimizing study approaches to emphasize high-yield content, and discussing test-taking strategies.
