I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. I attended Pittsburgh Colfax K-8 and then Taylor Allderdice High School, where I regularly did peer tutoring in math. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. I attended Pittsburgh Colfax K-8 and then Taylor Allderdice High School, where I regularly did peer tutoring in math. I attended Mount Holyoke College, a women's liberal arts college in western Massachusetts, majoring in mathematics and completing a minor in English. For the past 3 summers I was a counselor at MathPath, an overnight camp for mathematically gifted students ages 11-14. The past 2 summers I had the opportunity to teach and discovered my passion for sharing my love and knowledge of math.
I studied a variety of advanced mathematics at the university level, but also have expertise in elementary and middle school math. I also assisted in a MathPath course of contest math, so I am familiar with MATHCOUNTS problems.
I also have extensive experience babysitting, so I am comfortable with kids of all ages and of varying levels of interest and skill in math. I am well-versed in Zoom and have an extremely flexible schedule. I have been and continue to be very cautious with COVID-19 so though I am more than happy to arrange a way to safely meet in person with masks, I prefer to meet virtually.
