Bachelor of Science, University of Illinois - Champaign Urbana (Chemistry)
My goal is to get students to that A-Ha! moment. I found throughout my studies that getting to a point of confidence with not only the material but with how it would be presented come test day was key to being able to graduate with Distinction from a top 5 chemistry program. In addition, being a teaching assistant for multiple general and organic chemistry courses enabled me to identify effective teaching styles for the various types of learners present in my classes.
Teachers can often go through material too quickly or gloss over key concepts when lecturing. I enjoy working with students to better their understanding of the material and the reasonings behind the chemical concepts presented in their classes. I believe that an improved grasp on the subject matter coupled with exposure to practice problems leads to improved results on assignments and tests.
Visual models, extra practice problems, attacking problems from differing angles, and getting to the core of the misconceptions are just some of the ways that I supplement those boring power point lectures. I would love to assist you in bettering your understanding of subjects such as AP, General, Organic, Analytical, Bio- and Inorganic Chemistry.
I am generally available 5 pm - 10 pm on weekdays and 12 pm- 5 pm on weekends. I can travel to meet students at libraries, coffee shops, or other public locations. My base rate is 40$/hour or 70$/2 hours. Rates are subject dependent.

I received my B.S. in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have been a TA for organic chemistry courses and my undergraduate research was partly in the organic field of chemistry. Additionally, in college, I took Advanced Organic I and II with corresponding labs and a graduate level Physical Organic Chemistry coarse.
