University of Zagreb (English and Italian)
Languages have always been a great source of interest for me. As a Croatian native, I started learning English fairly early in life. Enchanted by the new sounds and structures that opened a whole new world to me, I decided to take up Italian in high school. I absolutely knew that learning and teaching foreign languages was a perfect fit for me. At the University of Zagreb, Croatia I completed my Bachelor's Degree with a double major in English language and literature and Italian language and literature.
During my college years I have had the opportunity to tutor many students in both English and Italian. My work experience since graduating from college includes teaching in various schools that specialize in foreign languages, in summer camps and I was, also, a substitute teacher for a semester at Kenyon College in Gambier, OH. My current work position is an Italian instructor at a private learning center here in Pittsburgh.
Teaching is absolutely a calling for me. Working with children and adults and seeing them progress in acquiring a new language has always been a great joy to me. My teaching style is very personal because I believe that every student has his or her own learning style. For that reason it is important to me to adapt to the student in order to ensure the optimum outcome of every lesson.
Looking forward to finding new students to share my love for languages!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
