Today, I asked for help with Physics 2 to make sure I understood the material. I told him that my professor asks students to solve equations symbolically before substituting values and he immediately began emphasizing the methodology of doing so with what he taught. He also went through my textbook and chose some more in-depth questions to walk me through.

Jake is a very thoughtful tutor and knows his complex math very well. Neither of us were sure this would work out given this was an on-line lesson as well as the complex nature of the problems; however after discussing the concepts and getting explanations the problems became easier to understand. We completed some problems in a workbook in preparation for a final and hope to do some additional work if we can find mutually agreeable times for these lessons.

Jacob has been a great tutor so far and is helped my daughter in just 2 sessions to better understand her Precalculis.

Jacob is working with my daughter that is in the 10th grade. She had previously take Geometry and Algebra 1. Jacob gave her an assessment to see which concepts she remembered so that he'd know where to begin.

Jake is professional, patient, and gently encouraging. After just one session, I improved my practice exam score by 30%. That is incredibly significant. He builds confidence and explains things so the material is no longer overwhelming.

Jacob has really helped me this semester and has been really patient in explaining concepts to me and gives me counter examples so they are very understandable.

Jacob was an amazing tutor. He was incredibly focused and did not allow me to get distracted. We always had full sessions. He knew everything that I asked him and did not struggle with anything. He did a wonderful job clearly explaining the areas I struggled with and was even able to come up with his own example problems on the spot. Calc 3 is very tough, but I highly recommend Jacob as a tutor!! He is also very accommodating and flexible with scheduling. I cannot say enough good things about him.

Helped me with kinematic a and to better understand how to breakdown info to solve problems. Will be looking for weekly sessions!

We just went over a new concept in class and he made it easy to understand, and I felt comfortable asking questions.

He is very patient and will try to stimulate your thinking instead of just telling you what to do. Very helpful and definitely would recommend him to other students

My daughter said her tutoring session was very helpful. She found Jacob knowledgeable and helpful. Would use the services again!

At our first tutoring session I learned more in one hour than I ever did in physics class. He also taught me a math concept that I never saw before that is very useful to me in Honor's Physics.

Jacob answered all of my questions very clearly and patiently went over my work to find exactly where I made all my mistakes and suggested different techniques to avoid making the same mistakes. I found him to be very helpful.

Jacob is an excellent tutor - knowing the subject very well, patient and calm. Most important of all he is so nice and flexible. We will continue using him for the next two years.

He asked what my son wanted to know, reviewed basic concepts, and gave lots of good advice and helpful hints. My son was pleased.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
